Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been given assurances over funding and could be unveiled as Rangers boss within 24 hours.
The Ibrox side are on the lookout for Steven Gerrard’s replacement and Van Bronckhorst is believed to be favourite for the role.
The Dutchman met Rangers for talks in London over the weekend but wanted assurances over his backroom staff and strengthening the squad.
And the Daily Record report that he has now been given those assurances.
It means he will be allowed to strengthen the squad if he takes charge, despite the club posting losses of £23.5m.
Van Bronckhorst could take charge of Rangers for the first time when they face Hibs next Sunday in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final.
He’s one of three men believed to be on the shortlist with Bodo Glimt’s Kjetil Knutsen and Frank Lampard also believed to be included.
Former Rangers midfielders Rino Gattuso and Derek McInnes aren’t in the running.
