Neymar has claimed that any criticism he received doesn’t affect him, especially when it’s coming from outsiders, and believes that his experience in football has helped him deal with critics.
The Brazilian forward’s remarks came following Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 victory against Lille at the Parc des Princes, with goals from Marquinhos and Angel Di Maria helping PSG to clinch a second half comeback.
“Criticism is normal,” Neymar said after the game. “I have been playing professional football for 15 years and I don’t care. The most important critic is me.
“I have to know what I do on the pitch for my team. Those who are outside don’t know what happens inside. They don’t know what we’re doing. But that’s fine. I’m still the same. The same as always.”
Looking specifically at the match, Neymar stressed that the victory was a result of collective effort against a strong opponent such as Lille.
“It was a very difficult game,” added Neymar.
“We knew that this team were going to make it difficult for us. They are good, but we fought until the end and we found the goals. Good team effort. I am very happy for the victory.”
