Sergio Ramos was not without a club for very long as French giants PSG announced they had come to an agreement with the former Real Madrid center-back.
Published on their social media, PSG welcomed Ramos and confirmed he signed a two-year contract that would see him tied to the club until 2023.
According to ESPN, Ramos will be earning less than what he was making with Real Madrid including if he had signed an extension.
PSG gave Ramos what Madrid wouldn’t as he wanted a two-year contract whereas his now former club were only offering one.
“I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain,” Ramos said. “This is a big change in my life, a new challenge and it’s a day I will never forget. I am very proud to be a part of this ambitious project, to be a part of this squad with so many great players.
“Paris Saint-Germain is a club that has already proven itself at the highest level. I want to continue to grow and improve at Paris and help the team to win as many trophies as possible.”

His initial plan was to stay at Real Madrid. In his farewell press conference, Ramos admitted that he had agreed to an extension but was told the offer was pulled.
Ramos the latest get in a busy offseason for PSG
After falling short in the race for another Ligue 1 title, PSG knew they needed to refresh their squad and have done so.
Ramos is the third player the club has signed following Georginio Wijnaldum on a free and paying €60 million plus add-ons to Inter Milan for Achraf Hakimi. The right-back used to be a teammate of Ramos at Madrid. He is also set to be reunited with former teammate Keylor Navas as well.
It is evident Ramos believed he had more than enough left in the tank to compete at the highest level. It’s why he decided to join PSG in addition to the Parisians being one of the few clubs who could afford him.
What PSG will be banking on is that Ramos can be the leader of their back line. They hope he is one of the final pieces to the puzzle that will finally lead them to Champions League glory.
Ramos is the latest player signed by the club and may not be the last as a deal for former AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is also said to be close.
