There is a positive case of COVID-19 at Roseburg High School which has impacted what was to be the start of the abbreviated football season.
Superintendent Jared Cordon said the district is working closely with the Douglas Public Health Network to respond to the news and protect the health of the school community. Cordon said those individuals who need to quarantine have been contacted and are at home self-isolating and monitoring for symptoms.
Students who are in quarantine will transition temporarily to remote learning.
The RPS release said RHS varsity, junior varsity and freshman football practices and games have been canceled for this week. The freshman game had been scheduled for Thursday while the varsity team was to play Eagle Point on Friday. RHS will resume regular football activities on Monday, March 8th.
