The now former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been officially unveiled as a Barcelona player and in his first words with gathered media, put his side of the story out regarding his messy exit from north London.
In quotes carried via the Mail, Aubameyang pinned the blame on Mikel Arteta and only him;
“I think the problem was only with him [Mikel Arteta] and he made the decision.”
“I can’t say much, he wasn’t happy and that’s it. It happened like that. He wasn’t very happy, I stayed very calm and that’s it.”
“They were difficult months but I think that’s how football is sometimes.”
“For my part I have never wanted to do something wrong and now I think that this is the past and I want to think about the present and right now that is my answer.”
Don’t Miss:
Aubameyang’s deadline day move to the former Spanish champions saw Arsenal write off any transfer fee to get the 32-year-old off the book, paying a severance package of about £7million. However, the Gunners will ultimately save over £25million in wages.
