Pirates lost coach Josef Zinnbauer who resigned two games into the current campaign – Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids had to step in and lead the team.
What pleases Ncikazi is that while Pirates are experiencing this transition, they are still getting the desired results on the pitch.

“We are a team in transition, and our transition should be smooth,” Ncikazi told the Pirates media team.
“I am just happy that there is progress in terms of results. It’s important that while we are trying to get into the right track of winning, trying to change a few things but there are results after that,” he said.

Pirates visit Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday, and Ncikazi expects a very defensive Gavin Hunt team.
However, at the same, Ncikazi feels the Sea Robbers should have enough capacity to open Chippa up and get into goalscoring positions on the day.

“Going into Chippa, very difficult. They are playing with a very defensive block but if we are Pirates, we must have the capacity to open the block and get a result,” explained Ncikazi.
“It’s important that we must progress from where we were and move in the right direction for the team to be in the right place,” concluded Ncikazi.
