Union Berlin have announced the signing of 28-year-old central defender Dominique Heintz from fellow Bundesliga side SC Freiburg.
Heintz had a contract with Freiburg until the summer but Union have paid a transfer fee to sign the German in January, no details have been released on the contract length.
“Union have developed impressively over the last years,” said Heintz. “They haven’t only stabilised themselves in the Bundesliga but also played in Europe. After three-and-a-half years in Freiburg, I’m looking forward to the new challenge to be a part of this club.”
