Vitesse Arnhem and AZ Alkmaar played out a forgettable 0-0 draw on Sunday evening.
Both sides went into the game on the back of important draws in the Europa Conference League on Thursday. Vitesse drew 3-3 at Stade Rennais, while AZ Alkmaar sealed the top spot in their group with a 1-1 draw at Jablonec.
The biggest moment of the first half came just before the half-time whistle when goalkeeper Markus Schubert came rushing out of goal and his attempted clearance was seized on by Vangelis Pavlidis. The striker scored easily but the goal was disallowed by VAR after it was noticed that Pavlidis had handled the ball.
After the break, both sides struggled to create anything, and the game ended with both sides settling for a point.
Vitesse are sixth while AZ Alkmaar is still down in 12th.
