FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy participated in the Inaugural MLS NEXT Fest Showcase in Norco, California last weekend with the Under-15s, Under-17s and Under-19s each playing three games. The U-15s faced Los Angeles FC, Sockers FC, and FC Cincinnati while the U-19s lined up against Miami Kendall Rush SC, Portland Timbers, and Solar FC. The U-17s participated in the U17 Generation adidas Cup Qualifiers where they faced Houston Dynamo, Charlotte FC, and Colorado Rapids.
The U-15s went 2-1 on the weekend where they followed their 5-0 loss to Los Angeles FC up with a 4-0 win over Sockers FC and a 4-3 victory over FC Cincinnati.
The U-17s and U-19s each went 1-1-1 in California with the U-17s winning 3-1 over the Houston Dynamo, falling to Charlotte FC 1-0, and tying the Colorado Rapids 2-2. The U-19s shutout Miami Kendall Rush FC 1-0, tied the Portland Timbers 1-1, and fell to Solar FC 4-2.
The 2021-22 MLS Next Season will continue in the spring, with the first game slated for March 12 at home, where all four Academy teams will host FC Boston Bolts. Revolution MLS NEXT & Alumni Highlights
U-19 forward Triton Beauvois (2003 – Malden, Mass.) scored two goals over the weekend while midfielder Hikaru Fujiwara (2003 – Lexington, Mass.) tallied two assists.
U-17 midfielder Esmir Bajraktarevic (2005 – Appleton, Wisc.) scored twice, leading the Revolution to a 3-1 victory over Houston on Friday.
U-17 midfielder Noel Buck (2005 – Arlington, Mass.) tallied a goal in the 2-2 draw with Colorado and an assist in the 3-1 win vs. Houston.
U-15 forwards Raphael Alves (2007 – Framingham, Mass.) and Peyton Miller (2007 – Unionville, Conn.) each scored two goals to lead the Revolution to a 4-0 victory over Sockers FC on Saturday.
Miller went on to tally the game winner on Sunday as the U-15s ended their tournament with a 4-3 win over FC Cincinnati.
