More frustration for Arsenal as major loan deal is ‘put on hold’

Arsenal are facing even more January transfer window frustration with the latest news surrounding Juventus’ Arthur Melo not sounding too positive.

According to a report via the Express, Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo is prepared to leave Turin for north London, but Juventus are pausing the potential loan deal until they sign a replacement.

The deal would provide much needed cover for a depleted midfield for Mikel Arteta and no doubt the aim was to get this over the line this week. However, this could now drag on with Juventus seeking a quality new signing of their own – providing much frustration for the Gunners in the short term.

Should Arthur Melo sign on current terms that have reportedly been agreed, Arsenal would pay all the 25-year-old’s wages, but no loan fee.
