Musa Esenu jumps high to head the ball

BUL Football Club’s unbeaten run away from home was shuttered on Wednesday afternoon after a 3-1 defeat to KCCA FC at MTN Omondi Stadium.

Both teams pressed hard in the early exchanges but an early goal for either side proved elusive as the Eastern Giants and their hosts lacked the cutting edge in the final third.

However, the Kasasiro Boys finally found a way through to allow Innocent Wafula open the scoring on the stroke of halftime.

Alex Isabirye made a switch to his team after the interval, introducing Joseph Semujju in place of Ibrahim Mugulusi, and the change breathed a lump some of oxygen in his men as they worked out a chance but Musa Esenu put his header wide four minutes off the hour mark.

Three minutes later, BUL was again chanced to draw the game level from six yards but Semujju saw his spot kick missed.

Isabirye then turned to the bench for Ibrahim Nsimbe to increase on the fire power upfront and off the pitch was Simon Peter Oketch in the 72 minute.

But before he even hit the ground, Charles Lwanga doubled KCCA’s advantage in the 77th minute and then Davis Kasirye scored their third goal a few minutes later.

Musa Esenu pulled one back with seven minutes left on the clock but it was too late for a comeback.

In the final minutes, Umar Mukobe was also thrown into the fray after Walter Ochora was injured.

This result is BUL FC’s first loss in four trips and they have now dropped to fifth position on the log with 14 points.

BUL’s next league commitment will be home to Busoga United on December 7.
