MATCH REPORT: EASTERN GIANTS EASE PAST TOORO UNITED AT BUHINGA STADIUM | BUL FC

BUL Football Club have seen out an impressive 3-1 victory over Tooro United on Friday in Fort Portal.

All the damage was done by the Eastern Giants in a rampaging first half as they cut through an ailing Tooro United back line in the opening period.

The hosts rushed to an early lead when Marvin Ashaba converted from the spot in the 7th minute but wobbled going forward.

BUL clicked into gear immediately after that penalty as they committed several bodies upfront, producing attack after attack and the mission finally materialized in a quarter hour with Ibrahim Kazindula scoring the leveler.

Walter Ochora scored the second – thirteen minutes later and Ibrahim Nsimbe added the third goal after a brilliant wave of attack on the stroke of halftime.

After the break, Joseph Semujju was thrown into the fray as he replaced Fredson Gwoto before Simon Peter Oketch and Dickson Niwamanya took up places of Richard Wandyaka and Ibrahim Nsimbe respectively nine minutes off the hour mark.

But despite the introduction of the mesmerizing attacking trio, the second period did not realize any goal as both sides turned toothless.

However, the team manager Alex Isabirye was pleased with the result because it was the second on the bounce after a slump.

“I am really excited because getting three points away from home is not easy at all. We are trying to see that we compete this season and I am happy my players are now competing,” he said.

“The game was good as well as the result because the players played very well.”

“We have another game on Friday, so, we need to go back home and see how we are going to handle it. The good thing is, we didn’t get any new injury and the players are very okay.”

Kazindula’s strike was his first goal since joining the Eastern Giants in July and the midfielder couldn’t hide his excitement after the game.

“Iam thankful because I scored my first goal at BUL FC,” he said.

“I also thank our fans who supported us today from wherever they were because the game wasn’t easy.”

“We conceded so early but we never retreated. I thank my fellow players that we recovered in time as a team and we finally won the game.”

That victory lifts the Eastern Giants to second in table on 20 points after ten games, their next task will see them play home to Bright Stars a week from now.
