Malawi senior national football team has left for Guinea ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) group D qualifier on Thursday.
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has confirmed the Flames departure for Conakry.
“The Flames are off to Conakry for Thursday’s AFCON Qualifier against Guinea. Travel Mercies,” FAM tweeted.
“The Flames have checked in at the Kamuzu International Airport on the way to Conakry for Thursday’s AFCON Qualifier against Guinea.”
Malawi seek to get their revenge over Guinea who beat them 1-0 at the last AFCON tournament held in Cameroon.
Guinea on the other hand are gunning for their first win of the qualifiers after losing 1-0 in Egypt on Sunday.
On the same day, Malawi beat Ethiopia 2-1 in Lilongwe.
In another game, Ethiopia welcome Egypt in Lilongwe also on Thursday.
