The “rest v rust” argument will come into play for Macarthur here as the Bulls play their first meaningful match since Boxing Day.
By the time this game kicks off it will have been 37 days since that 3-0 loss to Sydney FC so it will be interesting to see what sort of changes Ante Milicic has made.
While not that many would have been needed given that was Macarthur’s first defeat of the season, they have gone out and recruited Socceroos striker Apostolos Giannou to bolster an attack that has registered just seven goals in six matches.
There is no doubt he will be a useful addition, as will the return to fitness of Ulises Davila, it’s tough to make a strong enough case for a side that will be at least a little bit rusty.
Western United on the other hand will be buzzing after knocking off Melbourne City on the weekend and John Aloisi should have his side ready for action once again.
For that reason I’ll back the side that is match fit over the one that is fresh.
