Liverpool hope to move a step closer to an unprecedented quadruple on Saturday as they face Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have already secured the Carabao Cup by beating the Blues in February, and remain in contention for the Premier League and Champions League.
The Reds will go to Wembley as strong favourites to beat a Chelsea side that have appeared in four of the last five finals, but one just once.
While there is plenty to focus on for Liverpool on the pitch, it appears that they have also been busy off of it, with reports suggesting that they could announce their first signing of the summer in the coming days.
As per Football Insider, the signing of Fabio Carvalho from Fulham will be announced imminently.
The 19-year-old impressed on the Cottagers’ march to the Championship title, and will soon join Liverpool after the two clubs reached an agreement over compensation.
Carvalho had already agreed personal terms with the Reds, and the Premier League side will pay £5 million plus potentially an additional £2.7 million in add-ons.
The player’s new deal will keep him at Anfield for five years, and will unsurprisingly include a significant pay rise.
This season, the teenager scored ten goals and provided eight assists in the second tier, and also netted against Manchester City in the FA Cup.
The addition of Carvalho to Klopp’s current crop of attackers will frighten opposition teams, with the likes of Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Luis Diaz all competing for starting spots already.
