A recent report stemming from Italy has credited Liverpool with an interest in Udinese’s Rodrigo De Paul.
Who is Rodrigo De Paul?
De Paul joined Udinese in 2016, departing La Liga outfit Valencia for a fee of around €3m.
And the midfielder, now 27, has gone on to become a crucial member of the Serie A outfit’s squad.
All told, the Argentine has notched 184 appearances for Udinese, across which he has racked up an impressive 34 goals and 36 assists.
De Paul is a central midfielder by trade, and though he can play in a more defensive role or slightly further forward, is best utilised in a box-to-box role.
This is where he has been most effective for Udinese, chipping in with goals and assists, whilst also helping out at the back.
Liverpool linked with De Paul
And, as mentioned above, Liverpool have been credited with an interest in the midfielder.
Said interest does seem to make a fair bit of sense, as the Merseysiders are in need of a replacement for the outgoing Georginio Wijnaldum and De Paul does look to fit the bill.
And according to Sport Witness, citing reports from Italy, De Paul has interest from all of Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Juventus.
However, it appears to be Atletico who are furthest forward in their hunt for De Paul, with SW reporting that the Spaniards have offered €20m and Nehuén Pérez for the Udinese star. AC Milan are also believed to be planning to offer a player as part of their deal for De Paul.
It is not mentioned how much or who Liverpool would offer for the Argentine.
