Liverpool’s supporters have aimed their frustrations firmly in the direction of manager Jurgen Klopp this evening, after watching their side slip to a concerning defeat at the hands of West Ham United.
Hammers march on
The Reds marked their return to Premier League action a short time ago.
After keeping a fine start to the campaign on all fronts firmly alive courtesy of a 2-0 Champions League downing of Atletico Madrid during the week, Klopp and co. turned their attentions back towards matters on the domestic front, in a tricky Premier League showdown with West Ham.
Liverpool entered the clash aware that a defeat would prove altogether costly, in allowing their hosts on the evening to leapfrog them into 3rd in the English top-flight.
But, when all was said and done, such an outcome is precisely what played out.
A thrilling 90 minutes ultimately saw West Ham emerge on the right side of a 3-2 scoreline courtesy of an Alisson own goal, and 2nd-half strikes on the part of Pablo Fornals and Kurt Zouma:
“I don’t know why in these situations Liverpool don’t run back!”

Tsimikas calls mount
Liverpool, in turn, have slipped to 4th in the Premier League table, ahead of the upcoming international break.
And, if the immediate reaction across social media is anything to go by, then, evidently, those of a Reds persuasion are of the opinion that their first defeat of the campaign should be in big part attributed to the decision-making of manager Jurgen Klopp.
Whilst the German was of course without a number of key performers in the middle of the park this evening, it was his call at left-back which has since been widely highlighted as having proven costly in the capital, with just some of the Twitter highlights showcased below:
Tsimikas has kept a clean sheet in all of his starts but Klopp has to play his best buddy Robertson. Bullshit

this 100% on klopp. he decided to start Robbo over Tsimikas.

Stop. Playing. Robertson. No space? Does nothing. Tsimikas needs half a yard and puts in a dangerous ball

Reality dawning for Liverpool, lack of signings last Summer coming home to roost.
Shocking decision by Klopp to pick Robertson ahead of TSimikas too.— Alan Dempsey (@almdemo) November 7, 2021
Here we all are begging for more squad depth but what’s the fucking point when Klopp has blind loyalty to bums like Robertson. Honest to god he needs a wake up call #WHULIV

I love Robbo but Klopp please play tskimas! He’s been more clinical all season
— ThiagoSquad (@CallTheOx1) November 7, 2021
Feel for players like Minamino/Tsimikas. Klopp only plays them when he’s out of ideas when they could offer a lot more than out-of-form players like Robertson
— mj (@m_shah0) November 7, 2021
WTF MATIP AND ROBBO DOING THERE? If we lose this, it’s totally on Klopp!!
— Lishalini Devendran (@lishalini28) November 7, 2021
Tsimikas is currently 100% better than Robertson but I don’t understand Klopp tbf
— Simon Gwott (@Badeesimon10) November 7, 2021
One thing that does my head in about Klopp is his stubbornness when it comes to sticking with his favs when they’re clearly woefully out of form. He’s done it so many times and it never does us any favours. Robbo has been shocking for weeks now at the back and going forward.
