Leeds United 0-4 Man City: The Cityzens reclaim top spot

Manchester have reclaimed the top spot with a 4-0 victory over Leeds United in a Premier League clash staged at Elland Road.

City took the lead through unpopular goal scorer, Rodi in the 13th minute. There was a lovely freekick from Foden on the left and Leeds almost stood and admired it as they allowed Rodir all the time in the world to nod City ahead.

Nathan Ake made it 2-0 in the second half and Leeds were undone by more shambolic defending from a set-piece. Foden’s inswinger was won by Dias at the back post and nodded down looking for a touch. Ake got his body around a static Struijk and hooked it inside the near post from six yards.

In the 78th minute, Gabriel Jesus added the third, and City were cruising with victory. It was a fine goal as they played out from the back and work the ball forward to Foden, who put Jesus through on goal with a nicely-weighted pass. The Brazilian then coolly dispatched his sixth goal in three games.

Fernandinho made it a rout netting the four for the visitors. The ball fell to him on the edge of the box after a driving run from Sterling and he smacked it straight into the bottom corner, his effort too powerful for Meslier, who got a hand to it. The scoreline was perhaps a little harsh on Leeds, but City are celebrating a big win.

City are at the top of the table with 83 points, one above second-placed Liverpool who beat Newcastle 1-0 earlier in the day.
