KING FAISAL LOSE FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A WEEK


King Faisal FC lost to Obuasi Ashanti Gold in the week 20 game played at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium. The Ashanti derby took place today Friday, March 11, 2022.

Faisal were expected to bounce back after loosing to Aduana FC on Match Day 19 at the Baba Yara Stadium. They were pipped by a lone goal in the match played on Sunday March 6, 2022.

The Kumasi based club who have exhibited some good performances in the current season were beaten 2-0 by the Miners of Obuasi. Coach Amadu Nurudeen made three changes in his squad that lost to Aduana in their last league game.

Evans Sarfo took the place of Mawuli Wayo as Atta Kusi returned also took his place after returning from injury. He replaced Daniel Yemoh who had been manning the right back in the absence of Kusi. Enock Morrison also had the chance to start on his return from suspension.

Ashgold had their two goals scored by Mamudu Kamaradini and Isaac Opoku in each half respectively. Kamardini scored in the first half through a superb freekick.

Faisal tried effortlessly to get a goal through their pleasing display but that was not enough to get them on the scoresheet as the defence of Ashgold kept their shape.

The second goal came from a connection by Isaac Opoku after getting a cross from Adams on the left.
