Julio Cruz’s thunderbolt for Inter Milan against Juventus

Julio Cruz proved a valuable member of the Inter Milan squad during five seasons at the San Siro, forming part of the side that dominated Italian football in the late 2000s.

The Argentina international signed from Bologna in 2003 and wasted little time in making an impression, including scoring twice during a 3-1 away win over rivals Juventus at the Stadio delle Alpi.

Cruz’s brace included a brilliant free-kick for the Nerazzurri, smashing a set-piece beyond Gianluigi Buffon as the visitors sealed all three points in an impressive victory in Turin.

Obafembi Martins was also on the scoresheet for Inter, with Paolo Montero’s late goal from Juventus proving little consolation on a disappointing night for the home side.

Here is Julio Cruz’s incredible free-kick against Juventus in 2003.
