Jesse Lingard will be not be joining West Ham United on Deadline Day, according to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

Hammers fans will have a mix of emotions on Deadline Day, as they have seen their club sign midfield player Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow.

The Croatia international will be a welcome boost to the Hammers squad as they look to continue their superb start to the 2021/22 campaign.

However, where fans will feel slightly downbeat is that signing could spell the end to the interest in signing Jesse Lingard on a permanent deal from Manchester United.

Lingard was on fire last campaign on loan at West Ham United.

The attacking midfielder spent the latter part of last season on loan at the Olympic Stadium and performed incredibly for the Hammers, providing goals and assists on a regular basis.

With United bringing in some stellar names this summer, it was thought that Lingard could be sold, with David Moyes the clear frontrunners to sign the England international.

However, trusted transfer source Fabrizio Romano has announced on his Twitter feed that the Vlasic signing means Lingard to East London is now unlikely.
