Enyimba ace Anayo Iwuala has completed a permanent transfer to Esperance in a huge deal. Defenders Tebo Franklin and Olisa Ndah have also completed deals out of the NPFL from Nasarawa United and Akwa United, respectively.
Iwuala, 22, who was one of the revelations of the season, was instrumental in Enyimba finishing the season in second place as he scored a brace on the final day of the season to help them secure a precious three points. The five-cap Super Eagle was the subject of a possible transfer enquiry at the midway point of the season, with Enyimba slapping a $1 million price tag on the youngster. He has eventually joined Tunisian champions Esperance for the handsome sum of 200 million naira, and is set to earn around $45,000 monthly. He has followed in the footsteps of former Super Eagles striker Michael Eneramo in moving to Tunisia’s oldest football club.
Nasarawa United central defender Tebo Franklin Uchenna has left the NPFL side on loan to join Swedish side BK Hacken on a free loan with an option to buy following the conclusion of the 2020/21 NPFL season in which he excelled at the heart of the Solid Miners defence, helping them to a fourth-place finish in the league. The centre back joined Nasarawa United from amateur side Digital Foot FC and was a part of the Super Eagles B side that lost to Mexico 4-0 in an international friendly in July.
Akwa United central defender Olisa Ndah has reportedly left the camp of the Promise Keepers following their victorious NPFL 2020/21 campaign to secure a deal with South African giants Orlando Pirates. Former Remo Stars defensive lynchpin Ndah was conspicuously absent in Akwa United’s final day defeat to Lobi Stars, adding some fuel to rumours that he had departed for South Africa to undergo a trial with the South African side ahead of a potential move. Ndah was a vital member of the title-winning Akwa United side and also made his Super Eagles debut against Mexico in July. The defender capped off a remarkable season with the NPFL title and was named on the Sportsration Team of the Season.
