Incidents between fans take place in aftermath of PSG loss to Rennes

L’Équipe report this afternoon that several incidents between fans of both sides took place in the wake of Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 loss in Rennes today.

Although the build-up and the match itself had not seen any crowd trouble, the tension began to rise after the final whistle. Several Rennes fans, some of which are said to have been wearing balaclavas, began verbally provoking the PSG away supporters who had already returned to their coach to take them back to Paris.

A few PSG fans then came down to confront them, but police intervention stopped the situation from getting out of hand. Saber Desfarges had earlier today reported that the incidents had delayed the PSG squad’s exit from the Roazhon Park, with the players stuck in the car park while the situation was unfolding.
