The Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam (INCHAM), with the support of its members, has contributed to alleviating the challenges facing many Vietnamese people during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially farmers, who are among the most vulnerable groups.

The vast majority of farmers across the country have faced many difficulties due to a sharp drop in agricultural product prices, while agricultural export has encountered numerous obstacles.

INCHAM has collaborated with UPL Vietnam Co., Ltd to help farmers in the Mekong Delta overcome difficulties during the pandemic.

To ensure farmers enjoy a full and happy Lunar New Year holiday (Tet), UPL Vietnam and INCHAM jointly organised the “Share love Tet everywhere 2022″ programme on January 27 and 28, 2022, to donate 1,000 gift bags to farmers undergoing difficult circumstances in Tra Cu District, Tra Vinh Province, and Thoai Son and Tinh Bien districts, An Giang Province.

Through this programme, apart from helping farmers enjoy a full Tet and prosperous life, UPL Vietnam sought to help them promote sustainable agricultural development, improve agricultural production and ensure a better quality of life.

“During the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic, agricultural export has faced many difficulties and farmers’ lives have been severely affected, so UPL would like to contribute in a small way to help farmers enjoy a fuller and happier Tet,” Parveen Rai Joshi, general director of UPL Vietnam, shared.

Manoj Barthwal, chair of INCHAM, said over the past time, INCHAM had carried out many charitable activities to help the community overcome difficulties during the pandemic.

With support from its members, INCHAM has carried out many relief activities for the Vietnamese and Indian people.

“With gifts from the “Share love Tet everywhere 2022″ programme, INCHAM Vietnam wishes to share farmers’ difficult circumstances so that people can celebrate Tet warmly together,” he said.

“The companionship and cooperation of INCHAM and its corporate members, specifically UPL Vietnam, are very valuable, helping farmers overcome difficulties during the prolonged pandemic.”

INCHAM is a non-profit organisation, established in January 1999 to strengthen the ties between Indian businesses and the Vietnamese authorities to promote economic and business relations between Vietnam and India and be the focal point of the Indian community in Vietnam.

INCHAM was established in HCM City, which is the commercial capital of Vietnam. The hhamber established its Hanoi Chapter in October 1999 to further widen and strengthen its presence in Vietnam.
