Iconic South African football manager Pitso Mosimane has expressed shock at the sudden decline of Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
The Phobians, one-time winners of the CAF Champions League, CAF Super Cup, and the CAF Confederation Cup have failed to make any meaningful impact in their recent campaigns in CAF inter-club competitions.
The story is no different for Asante Kotoko who are two-time winners of the CAF Champions League (1970 and 1983).
Hearts were mauled in their recent attempt to stage a comeback to continental football, conceding 10 goals in two games against North African oppositions.
And, the situation has left the Al Ahly boss to question the state of the two clubs.
“Where are the Porcupine Warriors? They used to terrorise everybody. Where is Phobia? Where are those teams? When these two teams play in Ghana, the streets are closed. Where are those teams in the Champions League? Where are the top talents?” the South African quizzed during an interview with Accra-based Joy FM.
