How England could look with Jack Grealish, Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho behind Harry Kane against Czech Republic

England will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing goalless draw with Scotland when they face the Czech Republic on Tuesday.

The Three Lions managed just one shot on target against the Auld Enemy with questions being asked about Gareth Southgate’s team selection and others believing he was outwitted by opposite number Steve Clarke.

Southgate needs to get a positive result in England’s final group game, so will a change in the line-up help?

England fans have been clamouring for Jack Grealish to start at Euro 2020.

The Aston Villa captain was introduced in the 63rd minute at Wembley, but failed to have an impact on the game. However, he showed in England’s Euro 2020 warm-up friendlies against Austria and Romania he is more than capable of starting.

Raheem Sterling had a quiet game against Scotland and could be rested when England play the Czechs.

Despite Reece James impressing on his European Championship debut with a goal-line clearance to deny Lyndon Dykes, Kyle Walker, who was left out of the matchday squad, could come back in.

Meanwhile, Southgate is likely to be keen to get some first-team minutes into Harry Maguire.

The Manchester United captain has not played competitive football since injuring his ankle against Aston Villa on May 9.

He could replace Tyrone Mings, who has been faultless in his two Euro 2020 appearances, to partner John Stones.

Southgate might revert to Kieran Trippier at left-back, despite having Luke Shaw and Ben Chilwell – a Champions League winner – at his disposal.

Southgate was criticised by a section of England fans for playing two defensive midfielders in Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips.

And the Three Lions boss could replace Phillips for the more adventurous Jude Bellingham, who turns 18 at the end of the month.

With Grealish playing on the left wing, Jadon Sancho could feature on the opposite flank.

Phil Foden, who has been occupying the right wing role for the past two matches, has not been able to transform his club form to his country though was a bright spark in the middle.

Might he be rested? Sancho scored 16 goals and registered 14 assists in another impressive season in Germany and the decision to leave him on the bench against Scotland was labelled ’embarrassing’ by Ian Wright.

“You’ve got Sancho on the bench – 15 goals and 20 assists a season – and he doesn’t even get on,” he said bewildered, questioning the decision to take off Foden, too.

“We need to create… I’m embarrassed for us today,” he added.

There’s no doubt Wright, though, would be glad to see Arsenal kid Bukayo Saka play. The 19-year-old was one of three casualties not to make the matchday squad, but could return to the bench against the Czech Republic.

Harry Kane is yet to show his true form at Euro 2020 and will look to get off the mark come Tuesday and working out how to get more out the world class striker is something Southgate and co. will be mulling over.

Former England defender Stuart Pearce expects Southgate to make changes to his starting XI but doesn’t think that includes the skipper.

He told talkSPORT: “I think he’ll know the majority of his first 11.

“Maguire, potentially, might play in the next game. But I’ve got to say Mings has done himself no harm in the two games he’s played in.

“I spoke to [West Ham manager] David Moyes coming home from the game yesterday, he thought if England needed to switch to a back three and have a look at that in this last group game and see whether the dynamics of that change and help Harry Kane and the advanced players a little bit.”
