Turkey meet Wales in Group A at Olympic Stadium, Baku, Azerbaijan, in Group A of Euro 2020.
Victory would lift Turkey up to second for at least a few hours whereas Wales would temporarily go top with a win.

Stat Attack
- This is Turkey’s first clash against Wales at a major tournament.
- Turkey have won two of six previous meetings against Wales in all competitions (W2, D1, L3).
- Wales have won one of three previous clashes against Turkey as the ‘away’ team (W1, L2).
- Turkey have won just one of their last five Euro matches dating back to June 2008 (W1, L4).
- Wales have scored in six of their last seven Euro matches (W4, D1, L2), with the team conceding twice in both defeats.
Prediction
Following a woeful display against Italy in which they genuinely lacked any real passion in their attacking game despite defending well for much of the match, Turkey simply need a much better performance if they wish to give themselves hope of qualifying for the knockout stages.
Wales meanwhile weren’t at their best against Switzerland yet looked solid throughout in a 4-2-3-1 formation, which should stand them well confidence wise for this game because if they can start on the front foot and score first then they can go and win this.
Turkey though are still in good form despite Friday’s loss and I reckon that we will see a more typical Turkish performance than last time out, so am going to go for a score draw although Wales really are my tip if there is a winner.
Prediction: Turkey 1-1 Wales
