DONS WILL JET UP TABLE

By Scott Davie

Aberdeen hitman Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is ready to blast his side back into the top four following his return to the team.

JET was back in the starting line-up for the first time since September to help the Dons dump his old club Livingston last week.

He was also a key figure as Stephen Glass’ side made it back-to-back league victories for the first time since August with a 4-1 thrashing of St Mirren.

Jet said: “It is great to be back in the side and I am enjoying it. I’ve got my opportunity now and I have tried to take it.

“We might not have had the best time in recent weeks, but we have picked up and will start to push on for sure.

“When you look at the table it gives you motivation to keep pushing.

“We need to keep on striving to get into that top four and keep going from there.

“We create a lot of chances and don’t always take them, but against St Mirren we played some free-flowing football in the final third.

“The defence was really solid and Joe Lewis made some great saves.

“Now we need to kick on and keep these performances going.”

Dons boss Glass admits JET can be a frustrating player and isn’t the hardest worker in the team.

But the former Arsenal youth striker has the touch and technique that makes up for any flaws.

Glass said: “JET is creative and has an imagination not many other players have — and he has the ability to execute things.

“There are times when he could release players and he can frustrate you, but you take the rough with the smooth.

“He’s not going to work the hardest. What he does give you is an imagination. He sees other players and brings people into the game.

“I think his physicality helped us control the ball against St Mirren and I’m delighted with him.”
