Glazers set asking price to sell Manchester United | Shoot

After an unforgettable week off the pitch, the Glazers have reportedly set an asking price to sell Manchester United.

The Americans have been largely unpopular with supporters since buying the club way back in 2005 for £790m.

Now, following their attempt to join the infamous European Super League, which they backed out of days later, it appears – to the delight of supporters – they are considering ending their time at Old Trafford.

However, according to The Mirror, it will take an incredible £4bn offer for brothers Joel and Avram to part with the Red Devils.

It’s claimed that this is the figure they believe would have been generated by the sanctioning of the European Super League.

Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will leave at the end of the season.

The Glazers, who continue to take dividends and leave the club’s debts high, strongly supported the ESL and thought it would take them to an even higher level financially – therefore increasing their personal payments.

However, the enormous backlash by the footballing community, including protests by fans at the club’s training ground, left them no option other than to pull out of the original 12 club league, in which only three remain.

This latest dent in their already poor relationship with United’s supporters could be one of the final acts of their controversial tenure…….. but only if a buyer willing to pay the asking price comes forward.
