Gareth Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett has hit back at criticism both he and Gareth Bale have received from a Real Madrid supporters group.
The Federación de Peñas Madridistas de la Comunidad de Madrid (Real Madrid supporters’ clubs) have issued a strong statement, criticising the attitudes of both Bale and Barnett after the latter said he couldn’t care less about the club’s fans in an interview with Deportes Cuatro earlier this week. “I don’t care what they think. I don’t care about them [Real Madrid fans],” Barnett said.
Speaking to AS on Friday, Barnett had the following to say:
“I don’t speak on behalf of Gareth Bale. I just think the fans treated him disgustingly. Did you not hear the booing and the way they behaved. Did you not hear that? He was fantastic for Real Madrid. Look at all the things he won with them. And the goals he scored. And do they treat him properly? No.”
