The 26-year-old Doncaster-born attacker had been tipped to join Leicester City ever since her release by former club Manchester United at the end of last season and the player has today sealed her move to the East Midlands.
Sigsworth spent three years as a Manchester United player, scoring 22 league goals in 47 outings. The forward started just six league games last season and she should now reap the rewards of being handed more game time by Jonathan Morgan at Leicester City.
After completing her move to her new club, Sigsworth said “I’m absolutely delighted. It’s a club with a massive ambition, they did extremely well in the Championship and I’m really excited and looking forward to being a part of this journey now.
“I spoke with the manager quite a bit before coming and the ambitions, the drive, the way this club wants to be, it’s everything that I want to be a part of.”
Sigsworth started her senior career with hometown club Doncaster Rovers Belles before moving to Notts County for a short period. She returned to The Belles ahead of the 2016 campaign and she helped the club win the old FA Women’s Super League 2 the following season. Sigsworth’s goalscoring form resulted in her move to Manchester United and her three-year spell at The Leigh Sports Village will be looked back on as a success by many.
