Matildas superstars Sam Kerr and Hayley Raso starred overnight in wins for Chelsea and Everton respectively, scoring five goals between them.
Kerr scored twice as Chelsea regained top spot in the Women’s Super League with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

Against a defensively solid back five, Kerr broke the deadlock in the 24th minute with a looping header after being picked out by England international Fran Kirby – a combination that has repeatedly paid dividends for the Blues this season.
Ten minutes after the break, Kerr was picked out again by Kirby, and buried the strike from inside the box.
She was substituted on the hour mark and missed the chance for a hat-trick, with a Champions League clash coming up in midweek a clear priority.
Kerr now has 14 league goals this season, one behind Arsenal’s Vivianne Miedema in the golden boot race. Kerr scored and assisted in the Champions League quarter-final first leg on Thursday against Wolfsburg, had an assist in a 3-0 league win over Everton a week ago, and had a hat-trick in a 6-0 win over Bristol City a fortnight ago.
Today’s haul makes it six goals in four games in all competitions, plus a handful of assists to boot – a sizzling run of form for the superstar striker.
But it was fellow Australian Hayley Raso who stole the plaudits overnight with a hat-trick in a five-goal romp for the Toffees.
Her Everton side won 5-0 over Brighton, who had won four-straight matches entering the clash.
Raso’s first-ever hat-trick was ‘perfect’ – scoring with either feet and a header – plus she also won a penalty for teammate Izzy Christiansen to open the scoring.
Everton boss Willie Kirk said: “Right foot, left foot and header, the perfect hat trick and that doesn’t happen often but it’s been a culmination of months and months of hard work for Hayley so she deserves it today.
“She brings tenacity, hard work and fight and determination and real strong values and winning behaviours that we wanted to see today and I thought her performance was excellent today, won the penalty and obviously got three herself.”
