Firefighters were tackling a blaze at a tower block in Motherwell this afternoon.
Emergency services raced to Glen Tower, Range Road, Muirhouse at around 2.30pm today after reports of the fire.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they sent five appliances to the scene.
Local reports suggest the blaze started in a kitchen and was put out quickly by firefighters.
Thankfully there are no reported casualties as a result of the incident.
Police say the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.11pm on Thursday, February 24 to reports of a fire at a flat at Glen Tower, Muirhouse, Motherwell.
“Operations Control mobilised five fire appliances to the scene. There are no reported casualties at this time and firefighters are still in attendance.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received report of a fire at Glen Court in Motherwell around 2.30pm on Thursday, February 24.
“The fire, which is not being treated as suspicious, was extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no-one was injured.”
