Ferran Torres gives update amidst injury scare
Manchester City forward Ferran Torres is seemingly okay after an injury scare suffered tonight on international duty with Spain.
The Citizen winger and former Valencia starlet bagged a brace in La Roja’s impressive 2-1 win over holding European champions Italy in Milan earlier this evening, putting an end to the Azzurri’s historic 37-match unbeaten run under Roberto Mancini.
Torres has to be removed just after half-time and missed out on a chance to complete a second international hat-trick for his country, but any fears of a potential injury have been put to bed by the player himself after being assessed.

With Spain now through to the final and awaiting the winner of Belgium-France, news that Torres is earmarking his availability for the final is a boon to Luis Enrique’s outfit that have grown to rely on his goal scoring efforts since his national team debut last year, and 12-goals in 21-appearances for Spain constitutes a very credible return from the wide man.
Spain forward lays down gauntlet
Despite his effectiveness in Spanish colors, Ferran Torres has yet to truly become a mainstay at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola since his move from Valencia for ~£20million last summer.
The likes of Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, and even Jack Grealish have been utilized through the center-forward channel rather than Guardiola persisting with Torres centrally to see if the Spaniard can find consistent form.
But Torres has maintained his goalscoring exploits for Spain despite his inconsistent appearances at the Etihad and the seeming lack of faith displayed by Guardiola despite his level of ability.
As the goals continue to flow for the national side, it could only be a matter of time before Ferran Torres gets a real chance to show what he can do in the Premier League.
