According to the Mirror, Crystal Palace are interested in signing Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham this summer.
What’s the story?
Well, the 23-year-old enjoyed success at Stamford Bridge under Frank Lampard.
Abraham scored 29 goals in 72 appearances under the 43-year-old, who is believed to be back in the running to replace Roy Hodgson.
However, since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival in January, the 6-cap England international has barely played for the Blues.
Abraham made just seven appearances under the German, scoring one goal.
Despite that, he still finished as Chelsea’s joint top scorer alongside Timo Werner with 12 goals to his name in 32 appearances.
Gary Lineker rates Tammy Abraham highly
One man who seems to be a big fan of Abraham is Gary Lineker.
The BBC Match of the Day host once called the £58,000-a-week striker a ‘proper poacher’ in front of goal.
Crystal Palace fans should know all about Abraham’s qualities.
In five appearances against the Eagles, Abraham has scored three goals while providing one assist, on his way to winning four of those meetings.
If Lampard arrives, you would also presume that Crystal Palace’s hopes of signing the striker will increase.
However, Chelsea apparently want £40 million for their No.9.
That is a lot for the south Londoners to pay, so in our view, he won’t be moving to Selhurst Park.
Keep an eye on the saga, however, as nobody knows for sure what’ll happen.
