With Wolves having only managed to score five goals in seven Premier League games so far this season, it’s safe to say their current crop of attacking players are not firing on all cylinders at the moment.
One attacking player that is currently out on loan from the Midlands club is Wolves U23 striker Theo Corbeanu, who is currently spending the season at League One club Sheffield Wednesday.
Since making his move to the Yorkshire club, the 19-year-old, who is currently valued at £900k according to Transfermarkt, has made just three appearances for the Owls in League One, coming off the substitutes bench on all three occasions.
On three other occasions, Corbeanu has been an unused substitute in the league for Wednesday and hasn’t even been in the squad for four other games so far this season.
Unfortunately for the player, the three league games that Corbeanu has made an appearance in have seen the club drop points on each occasion.
Taking all of this into account, it’s safe to say that Corbeanu hasn’t exactly been a regular figure for Darren Moore side and hasn’t been able to make a massive impact when he has been called upon in the league.
However, one positive for the player came during the club’s midweek win over League Two side Mansfield Town in the Papa John’s Trophy.
In the game, Corbeanu, who was previously described as being an “outstanding” player by Wolves U23 coach James Collins, managed to grab an assist in the victory.
Do you think Corbeanu will have a big future at Wolves?
Yes
No
Moving forward, if Corbeanu can manage to make the most out of every opportunity he gets at the Yorkshire club from now until the end of the season and build on what he managed to do in midweek, we feel he still has the chance to turn his fortunes around and end the season and his loan spell with Wednesday on a high note.
However, if Corbeanu doesn’t end up having a successful time on loan with Wednesday, this could seriously dash any hopes the player may have had about potentially breaking into the senior team at Wolves at some point in the near future.
Bruno Lage will be far from pleased, as a result, as it was his decision to let him leave on loan for valuable game time is hardly paying off, on top of his chances of ever breaking into the first-team decreasing by the month.
