Christian Pulisic’s continued injury struggles puts his Chelsea future in doubt – Talk Chelsea

Christian Pulisic is far from a regular nailed on starter for Chelsea even if he didn’t struggle with regular injuries, but factor that in as well and you have to fear for his Chelsea future.

Once again this week Pulisic limped off injured playing for USA just 60 minutes into the match with what his manager described as an ‘ankle issue.’ This was after missing the start of the season at Chelsea after testing positive for Covid-19, which of course is not an injury but still meant he missed vital stages of a new season.

This has become the norm for him during his Chelsea career, and he is continuously on the injury table on and off meaning he has been unable to nail down a regular spot in the starting line up during his time here, or build any sort of momentum where he positively effects Chelsea’s success.

There is no debating his quality and what he brings to the park when he is firing and fully fit, but unfortunately that just isn’t frequent enough and for me, has casted doubts over his Chelsea future.

I believe we could see him leave the club in the summer, even if he manages to string a run of games in the first team line up. Right now he isn’t going to be a regular starter with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, and Mason Mount all ahead of him in the pecking order for just three positions, and I can’t see that changing.

So I think for all parties, a move in the summer could be on the card, perhaps even sooner in January depending on circumstances.

It would be areal shame of course, because Pulisic is a player with so much promise, but unfortunately he is also a player with so many injury problems that reoccur far too often.
