Chelsea’s opening 6 fixtures are tough on paper, but actually really positive – Talk Chelsea

The Premier League have announced the fixture lists for next season at 9am this morning, as fans and clubs awaited to hear their fate.

Chelsea are home to Crystal Palace on the opening day in August, which will be a nice pleasant return to Stamford Bridge. Or will it..? A certain Frank Lampard has been rumoured to be in line to take the Palace manager job, so it may all of a sudden become a very dramatic affair on the opening day for many reasons.

Chelsea’s first 6 fixtures are admittedly tough on paper..

However, after reflecting on these, I can actually spin a positive on this that you cannot possibly argue with!

First of all, we are the Champions of Europe – we fear nobody…!

Secondly, it is always best to get a tough cluster of fixtures done with early on if you are going to get one, because if it does go badly wrong, you have a long old season to quickly put things right again, it will not make or break your season at those early stages.

Finally, have you been watching Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea? We play BETTER against the best teams for some reason. We get more motivated and turn into absolute warriors against the top teams, we proved that enough times last season beating Manchester City three times, knocking out some giants in the Champions League, it’s what we do!

In fact, I’m more worried about the lower teams like Palace, Aston Vila, and…… Arsenal!! HA!

I’m buzzing for the new season and cannot wait to get going. As much as I am really enjoying watching the Euros right now, Chelsea and the Premier League cannot return quick enough for me!
