Chelsea are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League as Thomas Tuchel’s hugely impressive reign continues.
The German was appointed in January and has since steered the Blues to Champions League victory, a top-four finish, FA Cup final and the UEFA Super Cup.
But despite hitting Norwich for seven in their last Premier League outing, the Blues are currently struggling for options the striking department.
Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner – Tuchel’s only two natural centre-forwards – are both sidelined with injuries, meaning Kai Havertz has taken up the role as the club’s number 9.
Although the German continued to do a respectable job by scoring in the League Cup win over Southampton on Tuesday, Chelsea fans will be keen to have Werner and, especially, Lukaku back sooner rather than later.
But if the Blues’ injury woes continue it’s been revealed they have the option of recalling a striker who’s in red hot form to help bolster their ranks.
According to Goal, the West London side have a break clause in Armando Broja’s season-long loan spell with Southampton, meaning they can bring him back to Stamford Bridge in January if they wish.
The Albania international is making headlines with the Saints, scoring four goals in eight appearances.
Broja, 20, also proved to Tuchel that he could hit the back of the net in a blue shirt by scoring three goals in as many games during pre-season before the arrival of Lukaku.
It the Blues get all their forwards back and are firing, it would make more sense to let Broja continue to get experience with Southampton.
However, if they are struggling for options, Tuchel may want to consider having him as an option for the second half of the season.
