Sandro Tonali returns to the senior squad, and he’ll be joined by Davide Calabria and loanee Tommaso Pobega.

The third international break of the season is fast-approaching, and today the squad list of Mancini was announced.

The European Champions will be playing two 2022 World Cup qualifiers during the break, against Switzerland at Stadio Olimpico in Rome on November 12 at 20:45 CET, and against Northern Ireland at and the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park in Belfast on November 15 at 20:45 CET.

Sandro Tonali, the captain of the U21 side, got a call-up for the senior squad – a year after his previous appearance for the Azzurri. Tonali has been one of the best players in Serie A this season, pulling the strings in the midfield of Milan, and Mancini has decided to include him in the squad.

In addition to Tonali, Davide Calabria has also been called-up for his excellent performances as a fullback. Tommaso Pobega, meanwhile, who is on loan at Torino from Milan, has got his first-ever call-up. Mancini has named 28 players and with Marco Verratti and Matteo Pessina out with injuries, there’s space for Pobega, who has been improving under Ivan Jurić at Torino.

Many Milan players will be in action during this break, including Zlatan Ibrahimović who has been called-up by the Sweden national team, and Brahim Díaz who’s been called-up by Spain.
