Borussia Dortmund holding talks with Erling Haaland as Barcelona, Manchester United, Man City and Chelsea links continue

Borussia Dortmund have held talks with Erling Haaland over his future as speculation about a transfer continues.

The Bundesliga outfit face the prospect of losing their star striker this summer, with many European clubs keen to secure his signature.

The Norwegian international has a £68million release clause that becomes active at the end of this season making him an attractive proposition.

Haaland’s agent, Mino Raiola, spoke openly about his client’s desire to move to a bigger club in the foreseeable future.

Barcelona are just one of the clubs being linked with a move to sign the player, with Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Man City also in the picture.

And Dortmund boss Marco Rose has admitted the club had ‘honest’ discussions with Haaland.

Speaking to BILD, Rose said: “With Erling, everything is on the table internally – everyone is honest with each other.

“Haaland will make a decision at some point – the club will prepare well for it.”

Also, Dortmund director Michael Zorc previously told Kicker: “Currently there is no deadline and there have not even been any talks yet. But it is clear, understandable and only professional that we want and have to hold talks at some point.”

The 21-year-old superstar has established himself as one of the world’s best young talents alongside Kylian Mbappe.

Both stars are likely to become future contenders for the Ballon d’Or and could emulate Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s achievements in the game.

Haaland joined Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020 and helped the club win the DFB-Pokal last season by scoring a brace in their 4-1 win over RB Leipzig in the final.

He has scored 80 goals in 79 appearances in all competitions since his arrival.
