Boss Zlatko Dalic has challenged Borna Barisic to be fit for Croatia’s final Euro 2020 group fixture against Scotland.
The Rangers left-back missed Sunday’s defeat to England and will play no part against the Czech Republic on Friday.
Barisic has been nursing a back injury but could make his tournament bow against Steve Clarke’s side on Tuesday.
Croatia and Scotland face an uphill battle to qualify for the knockout stages and their fate could be decided at Hampden next week.
Dalic is gutted to be without Barisic for matchday two but hopes he can play a part and help his side into the latter stages.
The manager said: “Borna Barisic unfortunately is out of the team. That’s a great pity because he has had a great season at Rangers. He was in great condition.
“But since he came in to the camp he managed to get injured and unfortunately he’s not been able to get back in the greatest shape.
“He has been left back at home so he can work on preparing as best possible for the last game. We expect him and need him then.”
