Bordeaux v PSG Live Commentary & Result, 06/11/2021, Ligue 1

PSG make six changes from their narrow 2-1 win over Lille last weekend. Goalkeeper rotation sees Navas come in for Donnarumma, while Hakimi returns to the right side of defence displacing Kimpembe and pushing Kehrer inside. Herrera and Ebimbe replace Gueye and Pereira in midfield while the absence of Messi and Di Maria let Draxler and Mbappe get into the starting XI.

Bordeaux change their formation which brings about three changes from the XI that beat Reims 3-2 last time out. Petkovic has gone with three at the back, meaning Kwateng comes in for midfielder Tom Lacoux. Jean Onana and Otavio are the other two entrants, with Fransergio and Oudin making way as the hosts pack the centre of the park.

PSG SUBS: Danilo Pereira, Nuno Mendes, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Mauro Icardi, Idrissa Gueye, Colin Dagba, Ismael Gharbi, El Chadaille Bitshiabu, Angel Di Maria.

PSG XI (4-2-3-1): Keylor Navas; Juan Bernat, Marquinhos, Thilo Kehrer, Achraf Hakimi; Ander Herrera, Eric Ebimbe; Neymar, Georginio Wijnaldum, Julian Draxler; Kylian Mbappe.

BORDEAUX SUBS: Remi Oudin, Fransergio, M’Baye Niang, Gideon Mensah, Abdel Medioub, Sekou Mara, Jimmy Briand, Samuel Kalu, Gaetan Poussin.

BORDEAUX XI (3-5-2): Benoit Costil; Enock Kwateng, Laurent Koscielny, Stian Gregersen; Timothee Pembele, Jean Onana, Otavio, Yacine Adli, Ricardo Mangas; Alberth Elis, Javairo Dilrosun.

With 20 minutes to go before kick-off, let’s take a look at how the two sides are lining up – starting with our hosts!

Seven points clear of Lens in second place having played a match fewer, PSG responded well to their first domestic loss of the season, beating Angers and Lille either side of a draw with Marseille. Performances haven’t been especially convincing as Pochettino searches for his optimal formation, though his side will be without a host of injured first-team players including Lionel Messi, Marco Verratti and Presnel Kimpembe.

Bordeaux’s nervy last-minute win against Reims last week – courtesy of a 95th minute Jimmy Briand penalty – saw Vladimir Petkovic’s side earn a victory for the first time since mid-September. 16th in Ligue 1 and just three points above the drop zone, the hosts are looking to beat PSG for the first time since 2015.
