Barcelona have announced that Sergino Dest suffered a sprained right ankle during the United States’ clash with Canada on September 5.
The injury has been monitored in the days since the match, but Barcelona‘s own medical staff weren’t able to complete a full evaluation on the player until Wednesday.
Their findings suggested a low-grade sprain of the right ankle, but it is likely to keep him out of action for the next domestic match.
“It’s a low-grade injury, but his availability will only be determined by how it evolves,” a club statement read.
Dest has played three LaLiga Santander matches with Barcelona this term and has made the right-back position his own.
