Supporters of Spanish heavyweights Barcelona have taken to social media in numbers this evening, to call for Ronald Koeman to be sent on his way.

Araujo nabs a point

The Blaugrana were back in action a short time ago.

After being put to the sword in altogether concerning fashion by Bayern Munich last time out, the Catalans turned their attentions back to matters on the domestic front, in a La Liga meeting with Granada.

Barca sat in a lowly 10th-place ahead of kick-off, albeit having played a game less than the majority of the division’s big hitters.

When all was said and done on Monday, though, the true gap between Ronald Koeman’s outfit and the giants of Madrid at this moment in time was only reiterated.

Upon the final whistle sounding at the Camp Nou, the hosts were forced to settle for a point, itself only secured courtesy of a last-gasp equaliser.

After Granada took the lead inside two minutes through Domingos Duarte, it appeared as though the Nazaries were set to hold out for a first 3-point haul of the season, when the clock struck 90.

Fortunately for Barcelona, though, parity, and some semblance of pride, was restored right at the death, when Gavi’s dinked ball across the face of goal was nodded home by the heavily-involved Ronald Araujo:

‘Time to go’

As outlined above, however, their side clinching a share of the spoils has done little in sparing Ronald Koeman of the wrath of the Blaugrana faithful.

On the back of the action coming to a close in Catalunya, the club’s supporters have taken to social media in their droves, to highlight one particular decision as grounds for the Dutchman’s immediate sacking.

The call in question came fifteen minutes from time, when, after already changing his system to a more direct one through the introduction of Luuk De Jong, Koeman followed up by bizarrely throwing Gerard Pique on to join the Dutchman up top.

Amid the storied history of Barca ball, it certainly marked something of a low point, with some of the best of the online reaction, in turn, showcased below:
