Augsburg enquire about Bayern Munich’s Joshua Zirkzee

Augsburg have enquired to Bayern Munich about the possibility of signing 21-year-old forward Joshua Zirkzee, according to Bild. The Dutch youth international also has interest from Stuttgart and the Premier League.

With one-year remaining on his current deal, Bayern Munich are open to selling Zirkzee this summer but demand a fee between €15m and €20m. Because of interest from the Premier League, Augsburg realise that they can’t compete with the financial power from England. As of now, a transfer is therefore unlikely but if the other interested parties aren’t serious, FCA remain interested.

Zirkzee spent last season on loan at Belgian side Anderlecht, scoring 18 and creating 13 across 47 games in all competitions. The Dutchman is a candidate to replace Saša Kalajdžić (25), should the Austrian forward leave Stuttgart this summer.

Before the September 1 deadline, Augsburg want to strengthen their attack. Per the report, Enrico Maaßen and Stefan Reuter are also interested in signing Junior Adamu (19) from RB Salzburg – discussions are currently ongoing for a potential loan with a purchase option.
