Aubameyang’s penalty hands Gabon win over Libya

Captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang’s second-half strike handed Gabon a 1-0 home win over Libya at Stade Franceville on Friday evening.

The win saw Gabon move to second place on seven points from five games in Group F displacing Libya who have six points.

The Arsenal skipper Aubameyang scored the only goal of the game in the 54th minute.

The hosts are out of the race for the final round of the qualifiers hence playing for pride.

On the other hand, Libya still stood a chance of qualifying for the next round as they had trailed leaders Egypt by four points before yesterday’s game.

In another game of the group bottom-placed Angola welcomed Egypt also this evening of Friday.
