Manchester United have made a bid for Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier, according to Football Insider. United are interested in signing the former Tottenham Hotspur star in the summer transfer window and have made a formal move for the defender.

The former Premier League and European champions have submitted an offer of £10 million. However, according to the report, Atletico, who won the La Liga title this past season, have turned down the opening bid from the Red Devils.

Trippier joined Atletico from Tottenham in the summer of 2019. The 30-year-old has done well for the Spanish club and helped them win the La Liga title in 2020-21. However, the right-back reportedly wants to go back to the Premier League. Trippier is with the England squad for the Euro 2020 finals at the moment. Trippier gave six assists in 28 La Liga matches and played seven times in the Champions League for Atletico this past season, according to WhoScored.
