Lazio have been offered a chance to sign Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira this summer.
Having spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Fiorentina, Torreira could not move to La Viola on a permanent basis as Fiorentina could not meet Arsenal’s asking price for the midfielder.
Il Messaggero now claim in their print edition (via TMW) that Lazio have been offered a chance to sign Torreira on a loan deal and talks between Igli Tare and the London club have already taken place. Last summer, Maurizio Sarri wanted the Uruguayan at the club but Lazio didn’t move for the player.
The opportunity to sign him has now come forward and Lazio could grasp the chance, even if they have now already pretty much signed Marcos Antonio from Shakhtar Donetsk. A move for Torreira would mean that Lazio will not go ahead with signing Ivan Ilic of Verona unless one of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic or Luis Alberto leave.
