With all eyes on the upcoming Europa League semi-final against Villarreal on Thursday, there’s not been a lot of transfer talk, but that could soon be about to change with an interesting report to found in Spanish source Estadio Deportivo.
The report claims that Arsenal are close to an agreement with Real Betis’ midfielder Guido Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, a 27-year-old Argentine international, has been a regular for the La Liga side this season, scoring twice in 34 appearances.
It’s reported that the player has an eye-watering €80million release clause in his contract, but due to financial constraints posed by global events and an overall lack of revenue Arsenal are likely to get a much cheaper price on Rodriguez.
However, that ‘much cheaper price’ has been quoted in the report to be around €50million (£43m).
